The difference between life and the movies is that a script has to make sense, and life doesn’t

Six Movies I can’t wait to see this year!

In which I attempt to be a better film student

I’ve been watching SO many BBC shows on Netflix and I realized that I’m really not taking advantage of a huge library of films that I haven’t seen. And since I AM partially a film student, I should really be on top of my game. So. Behold. A list of films that I have not seen (don’t judge) that are on Netflix available for instant stream. If I have time to watch 3 episodes of Doctor Who a night I can most certainly watch all of these over the summer. HERE GOES.

  1. Being John Malkovich
  2. Tiny Furniture
  3. Melancholia
  4. Sarah’s Key
  5. Boys Don’t Cry
  6. A Mighty Heart

Well, it’s not going to be fun but, I have my schedule for next semester!

I get to take a Music Company and a Songwriting seminar so those should be good-particularly the writing seminar, after not being able to write for a whole semester. And then I’m taking Dramatic Writing for TV & Film, Sound for Picture, and Popular Culture Studies in Independent Cinema. That’s actually the one I’m most excited about-apparently we get to actually draft a 15 page screenplay for an independent film so, it should be a good time. But so much work. Oh and I’m taking ICC 565, aka the class that has something to do with interactive design but that I forget the name of every single time. And I’m too lazy to look it up. But I know I get to make a website. So whatever. But anyway, 21 credits, here I come! My only silver lining here is that I actually like pretty much all of the classes I’m taking, AND-I’ve already had mono. Can’t do that one again now can I?! It’s the little things.

i’m currently scanning through the BFI website and dying of excitement

a rescreening of every Terrence Malick film?! A theater playing Battleship Potempkin and Great White Silence?! A preview of Drive with a Q&A with the screenwriter?! Guys, how has no one told me about this before?! Tickets to these things are like 10 pounds. THIS IS NOT REAL.
